Salary to Hourly Calculator
Job posts often list annual salary while you think in hourly terms—or the reverse. This divides annual pay by paid hours per year (weeks × hours).
Salary → hourly
How this is calculated
Hourly = annual ÷ (hours per week × work weeks per year). Default is 40 hours × 52 weeks = 2,080 hours.
Example: $62,400 ÷ 2,080 = $30.00/hr.
Use this tool for
- Comparing a salaried offer to a contract hourly.
- Accounting for unpaid weeks off by lowering the “weeks” field.
- Part-time schedules with fewer than 40 hours.
Common questions
Does this include PTO?
If you are paid for vacation weeks, keep weeks at 52 (or your employer’s paid-week count). If unpaid summer weeks exist, reduce work weeks.
Gross or net?
Enter gross for gross hourly; enter net take-home only if you want a rough net hourly (not the same as employer cost).
